Atom Hadm has been playing together since November 2007 and is composed of producer, drummer and bassist Mark Lavonier, synth and sample ornamentalist Glenn Prior, guitar, bass and sax player David DePasquale and singer Tina Ruth. Throughout their dexterous music stories of struggle, tragic loss, and the beauty of the natural world span aural miles to destinations not found on your mainstream map. Innovative and angular, their influences imply the same with traces of Sonic Youth, Portishead, The YYY’s, 65DaysofStatic and Tortoise, though they are very much their own.

Live performance has been a crucial part of their growth and artistic fulfillment, proving to be an eclectic and memorable fit all over New York from Brooklyn’s Williamsburg art-scene to the Sterling Stage Folkfest upstate. All four have professional backgrounds in visual and audible media, delivering an energetic and sonically meticulous show. As of late, they’ve played against the backdrop of a surreal mix of ‘lost’ film, to unravel the plot of the music’s storyline.

Their second record, Civic Weight (2010) was recorded and produced in their space in Central NY known as Information Center Studios, with their first, Looking Out (2008) created and released there as well. Atom Hadm is independent in song and spirit, and their recordings reflect their artistic mission with a visionary music that embodies their self-imposed label. of Pre-Post Apocalyptic/Neo-Classical/Darkwave. “While the term is a bit long, don’t let it confuse you; these guys rock.” -Gnarfel.com Radio
